This position is accountable for the efficient production of cement including efficient utilization and improvement of production facilities.
It is responsible for production from the point raw material is introduced into the processing cycle to the time it emerges as finished cement to the customer.
This involves the operation of a wide variety of heavy industrial machinery including ball mills, kilns, stackers reclaimers and similar large fixed installations.
Duties: o Ensures that products are produced at quality and performance standards o Ensures that established inventories are maintained, and plant production facilities produce cement according to profit targets and marketing objectives o Establish and monitor a production plan; maintain accurate cost and inventory control; calculate and analyze productivity and material data o Ensure that plant manufacturing equipment and facilities are maintained in optimum condition through close coordination with the Maintenance Superintendent o Understands the value of quality and ensures processes are in place to provide a quality product to our customers o Trains, disciplines, and motivates staff to ensure an efficient, safe, stable and cooperative workforce o Responsible for maintaining operating costs by developing and implementing cost control measures o Responsible for capital and operating budget o Assures fair and consistent compliance to applicable Company Policies, Labor Agreement and governmental regulations o Maintain duties related to MSHA regulations, including accident investigation and reporting, safety meetings, training, etc.
o Actively engages with the employees to reinforce safe behaviors; ensures that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed o Works closely and effectively with safety, environmental, engineering, and quality control #HP #CL Education: o Engineering degree preferred or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience o Thorough working knowledge of cement production process Requirements/Qualifications: o Ability to formulate decisions, make and support recommendations, prioritize work, communicate with multiple parties and handle multiple tasks o Ability to work at heights o Strong written/verbal communication, analytical and computer skills o Proficient reading, writing and basic math skills o Excellent work ethic - high standard of performance and production o Ability to direct, motivate and coach activities of others o Must be able to see and hear safety indicators and warnings o Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry, dusty and near hot kiln process o Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground) o Climb stairs and ladders as high as 400 feet in elevation o Physical ability to climb on equipment to provide supervision o Drive vehicle to various plant sites and work locations; must be able to travel overnight (air/auto) o Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs and stockpiles, stoop, crawl under and into enclosed spaces Working Conditions: Work indoors in an air-conditioned environment and outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process.
Exposure to vibration and to noise levels that will require the use of hearing protection.
Exposure to cement, clay, limestone, coal, coke, and various lubricants and lab chemicals.

Conditions of Employment: Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check.
Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
